The BlackBerry Guys Host the 2010 Blackberry Jam Music Festival
6/3/10
FRANKLIN, Tenn. (June 3, 2010) - Despite severe flooding of its Boyd Mill Farm location in Franklin, The BlackBerry Jam Music Festival (http://www.theblackberryjam.com) will proceed as planned and organizers are more determined than ever to make the 2010 festival the best in the events seven-year history.
The festival's new sponsor, NationLink Wireless, brings the one-day BlackBerry Jam, an acoustic music festival and family event, to Franklin on Saturday, June 19th from 3 p.m. - 10 p.m. with scheduled acts throughout the day. Tickets are $10 for adults and children 12 and under are FREE.
"Our smart-phone support team is known to area businesses as ‘The BlackBerry Guys," says NationLink Wireless’ president Andy Bailey. “How could we resist aligning ourselves with The Blackberry Jam? Like many others in the Middle Tennessee business community, my team is more than willing to step up to the plate for worthy causes. It’s even more exciting when we can have a little fun with it," he adds.
Held on the Boyd Mill Farm of Carol Warren and Dale Whitehead, the BlackBerry Jam brings together musicians from several states and countries with a focus on homegrown talent from Middle Tennessee.
Festival goers will find something for everyone, from bluegrass to blues music with new additions in 2010 of the Blackberry Book Fair starting at 2 p.m., featuring authors from the Williamson County area showcasing and talking about their works, as well as Shuff's Music Musical Petting Zoo, where kids can get up close and personal with their favorite acoustic instruments.
This year's lineup is as strong as ever and includes headliners, The WannaBeatles on schedule to create their own bit of Beatlemania right here in Williamson County. The WannaBeatles consists of Grammy award winning and talented music producers, arrangers, studio players, and singers who have come together to play the music they grew up with. Ever since their first "all Beatles" gig together, it was love at first note!
Also, joining the cast in 2010 are the incomparable Carter Brothers, Tim and Danny Carter. Formerly with Capitol Records and real life, long-removed relatives of the famous country music dynasty, the Carter Family, the Carter Brothers have been performing their own unique appalachianfolk-rock-funkedupbluegrass-gypsyblues for decades. Don't miss these North Carolina natives who’ve called the Nashville area home for years.
Other amazing acoustic acts on the bill include Trina Hamlin, Carol and Dale, Tray Eppes, Paddy Dougherty, Kevin McKendree, Nancy Moran and Fett, and there's always a surprise guest or two who shows up to inject more fun into the party!
Previous headliners have included Colin Linden, Michael McDonald, Carters Chord and Canada’s Blackie and the Rodeo Kings. The list goes on, so join us the third Saturday in June for a musical experience like no other!
It is all about the music, with 2010 proceeds going to help The Boys and Girls Clubs of Franklin and Fairview, Hard Bargain/Mt. Hope Redevelopment organization and Living Waters for the World.
